Copywriting
Creating a story for a brand is one of my favourite jobs. It’s more than just words on a page; it’s what those words represent and how they make your audience feel. I’m a copywriter for lifestyle brands with a primary focus in travel, beauty, health and wellbeing.
I choose to specialise in lifestyle copywriting because it’s important to have a connection and an understanding of the brand. The copy tends to mean more when the person behind it could be a genuine customer.
For examples of my work, please take a look at my portfolio.
Here are just some of the areas I can help you develop:
Website Copy
Whether you’re having a website re-haul, or you’re beginning work on your first online space, I can help to tell your story. Website copy is more than just writing on a webpage; it’s about using keywords and best SEO practices to make sure you’re easy to find.
Each company requires a very different approach when it comes to their website. Even companies that operate as rivals, or closely in the same sector, should have differing messages. I try my best to immerse myself into your company life, so I can spread that message as clearly as possible.
Email Marketing
From experience, I think email marketing can be one of the most useful tools for showcasing your business and offers. I know how to encourage clickthroughs and have a proven track record at increasing the open rate of e-newsletters. I’ve written email marketing for brands like; Powerscourt Hotel Resort & Spa, Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa and Sky Sports.
I also have my own weekly newsletter. This has helped me to analyse trends and do a/b testing on my audience, which means I can then transfer my findings onto your emails.
Brochures
A brochure or leave-behind still serve as a very important marketing tool for a number of companies. Increasingly, these brochures are digital. Whether you’re opting for the physical or digital approach, I can create copy that will speak to your audience in the right way.
Brochure copy is slightly different in that the key points should be emphasised in the first paragraph due to the skim-reading approach most people use to read a brochure. I can advise you on placement of certain key words and ideas, too.
Press Releases
I worked for 5 years as Head Of PR for a creative agency, so I have excellent experience in creating press releases. I know the types of copy that certain writers and editors are looking for, and can advise you accordingly.
Each consumer press release requires a unique approach to give you the best chance of picking up national coverage.
Proofreading
As well as proofreading novels, sometimes a brand may find it is more cost-effective to write the copy themselves and have me look over it and give a second-opinion. I check for grammatical errors, spelling mistakes and general readability and put my notes together in a format convenient for you.
Blog Writing
Creating a blog for your business is great for a number of reasons; it allows you to connect with your audience far away from the ‘hard-sell’ of your website. Blogging is also great for SEO; personally, I don’t blog for the purpose of SEO because I do believe there’s a big value in only doing things you love. But, the more words your brand’s website has on it, the better.
